Gostota (čiste) vode znaša okoli 1000 kg/m³. Gostota vode je odvisna od temperature (gostota morske vode je odvisna tudi od slanosti).

Gostota vode pri 0°C je 999.8425 kg/m³

Gostota vode pri 24°C je 997.2995 kg/m³
